The Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) is a provincial leader in academic achievement, consistently achieving higher than the provincial average EQAO scores. HCDSB provides exceptional education to over 35,000 students across our 10 secondary and 45 elementary Catholic schools.
The Halton Catholic District School Board is located in the prestigious Halton Region, which has been consecutively ranked (2009-2017) as the Safest Large Region in Canada by Statistics Canada CSI Reports. Halton Region is conveniently located close to Toronto, and offers students countless opportunities for entertainment, recreation, and education.
With a focus on Achieving, Believing, and Belonging, HCDSB provides its students and staff with the tools necessary for realizing their fullest potential. Students who successfully graduate from our Board can expect to be fully prepared for their post-secondary journey – and beyond!
Advanced Placement (AP) Program: Advanced Placement (AP) courses offer university-level content to students at the Grade 12 level. Students in AP courses study topics in greater depth, enhancing their intellectual development. Students in the AP Program have experienced tremendous success, both at the secondary and post-secondary school level. HCDSB's high-achieving AP students consistently score above the Ontario, Canadian and Global exam score averages.
Halton is well situated between Toronto, which is about 33 km east of Halton Region, and Niagara Falls, which is about 72 km west. Halton Region offers countless opportunities for entertainment, recreation, education, relaxation and fun along over 25 km of frontage on beautiful Lake Ontario.
HCDSB recognizes its most hard-working and high achieving graduating International Students at the end of every school year through its ISP Graduate Scholarships. School staff are asked to nominate any graduating International Students who they believe meet the criteria for various scholarships.

Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Graduating from a designated learning institution does not automatically make a student eligible for a PGWP; not every program at a DLI qualifies, and eligibility can depend on the program, language results, field of study and other requirements. Eligibility is checked for each program — see the program page.
