Overview

In the Bachelor of Arts - Mathematics program, students analyze everyday and complex issues mathematically, studying mathematics within the social sciences, humanities, and business. They can choose up to two concentrations. Mathematics is a dynamic field with many applications, solving real-world problems efficiently across sciences, arts, and business. Students learn about the significance of probability and statistics in modern business models, initially developed from astronomical and census data and gambling. This highlights mathematics' ongoing importance in our world. The BA in Mathematics emphasizes mathematics and statistics in social sciences, humanities, and business, allowing combinations with disciplines like Economics. The university also offers a Financial Mathematics program and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mathematics, focusing on mathematics and statistics in natural and computer sciences.

But we’ve also been dedicated to the philosophy that our students’ success is measured through more than grades – it’s based on the quality of the lives they lead, and those they inspire. Laurier’s two campuses are in Waterloo and Brantford, but we also have a Faculty of Social Work in nearby Kitchener and a weekend MBA program in Toronto. In all, we have 19,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Kitchener-Waterloo, with a population of about 350,000, is small enough to be safe and easy to navigate but large enough to o...
