Overview

The Master of Science in Health Sciences program is a postgraduate degree covering various health fields, allowing specialization in areas like epidemiology, health administration, nutrition, or medical laboratory sciences. These programs leverage STEM knowledge to enhance healthcare systems and patient outcomes. Graduates are equipped for careers in clinical practice, research, health services management, or policy. In the program, students will focus their studies on one of two fields: Molecular and Medical Sciences (MMS) and Community Public and Population Health (CPPH). Applications are welcome for both fields in course-based or thesis formats. You'll choose your focus and conduct research with an interdisciplinary group of faculty supervisors, ensuring a valuable degree experience. The MSc in Health Sciences prepares you for research, policy, and direct service in the health sector. Students in the coursework option can complete the MSc in ten months, featuring a diverse curriculum that addresses relevant health sciences issues. Laurier's unique cell-to-society approach emphasizes integrating biomedical and social health perspectives.

About the Institution

But we’ve also been dedicated to the philosophy that our students’ success is measured through more than grades – it’s based on the quality of the lives they lead, and those they inspire. Laurier’s two campuses are in Waterloo and Brantford, but we also have a Faculty of Social Work in nearby Kitchener and a weekend MBA program in Toronto. In all, we have 19,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Kitchener-Waterloo, with a population of about 350,000, is small enough to be safe and easy to navigate but large enough to o...
