Overview

The diploma in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy builds on your education and experience, teaching a unique therapy that combines spiritual and psychological healing. It supports those wanting to become therapists or expand their knowledge in spiritual care and psychotherapy. This diploma is for practicing professionals seeking further education. It does not qualify students for professional certification or membership in the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Interested students should apply directly to the Master of Arts (MA) in Theology: Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy. Can be completed full- or part-time in one to two years. Consists of six half-credit counselling courses from Martin Luther University College or other Laurier faculties (with instructor permission). All courses are electives, providing flexibility in course selection.

But we’ve also been dedicated to the philosophy that our students’ success is measured through more than grades – it’s based on the quality of the lives they lead, and those they inspire. Laurier’s two campuses are in Waterloo and Brantford, but we also have a Faculty of Social Work in nearby Kitchener and a weekend MBA program in Toronto. In all, we have 19,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Kitchener-Waterloo, with a population of about 350,000, is small enough to be safe and easy to navigate but large enough to o...
