Overview

With a combined Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Management (B.A./B.Mgt.) degree, the student can explore a multitude of interests and careers. For example, if the student is interested in managing an art gallery, they can major in art and general management. If sports marketing ignites their passion, they can major in kinesiology and marketing. The Combined B.A./B.Mgt. degree program takes five years (50 courses) to complete and leads to the conferral of two degrees. Accountants are central to the operations and strategies of all types of organizations as well as the foundation of short- and long-term success. Accountants provide business and financial advice by measuring, analyzing, forecasting and reporting organizational performance, resources and risk. They are required to have integrity and the ability to think critically, communicate, and interact with others effectively. Accounting students gain technical skills and learn how to address a broad range of business problems. They acquire and practice the skills needed for success, including writing and presenting, using professional tools and case analyses. Students study financial reporting, individual and corporate taxation, business analytics and information systems, auditing, management control systems and costing, as well as variety of other management disciplines. Students can pursue their passion for music while exploring diverse courses. To those who are interested in music and another subject area, a BA (Music) allows students to explore their interests in the sciences, social sciences and humanities, while still focusing on music. Through the classical music programs, students can choose a performance route and receive one-on-one instruction from master performer-teachers. Entrance to studio courses is dependent on a successful audition. Students will attend guest artist classes and have multiple performance opportunities throughout the year. Recitals showcase the student’s development and accomplishments as a musician, and their experience is enhanced by participation in ensembles.
