Overview

The Master of Science in Management – Business Analytics with a concentration in Information Systems Management is an approved Federal STEM degree program that emphasizes models, algorithms, and systems used in business analytics. The concentration focuses on data management, artificial intelligence, systems development, and project management as these areas are increasingly structured to support analytics-driven decision-making. The program is designed to be completed in as few as two regular semesters of study and consists of 30 credit hours that integrate analytical, technical, and managerial competencies. The curriculum is structured around three primary areas of study. Twelve credit hours are dedicated to Business Analytics core courses that address the development of analytical models, data provisioning, and evaluation of analytics in practical contexts. Another twelve credit hours consist of Information Systems core courses that establish a strong technical foundation for business analytics, with an emphasis on the core pillars of big data, machine learning, and programming. The remaining six credit hours are electives, allowing the program to be tailored to specific professional objectives. Graduates of the program gain the skills necessary to assume leadership roles in technology-driven environments. Alumni have reported that the integration of information technology coursework with business-focused courses in areas such as marketing and accounting provides a broader managerial perspective. Program outcomes have included career advancement, including promotion to IT management roles shortly after program completion.

Optional Practical Training (OPT)

OPT and STEM OPT eligibility depend on maintaining F-1 status and on the program. A program counts as STEM only when its CIP code is on the official STEM list — not because its name sounds technical.
