Overview

The Master of Science in Digital Health is an interdisciplinary programme developed in partnership with healthcare service providers and clinical experts in the field of digital health. It is designed for postgraduate learners seeking to enhance their knowledge, competencies, attitudes, and skills within digital health and healthcare systems. The programme enables graduates to operate effectively as healthcare leaders and innovators within digitally enabled healthcare environments. It is developed and delivered by lecturers from computer and software engineering, nursing, and healthcare disciplines, playing a pivotal role in preparing graduates to bridge the gap between healthcare and computing and to lead the transformative evolution of technology in healthcare delivery. As highlighted by the World Health Organization, digital health supports more efficient and sustainable health systems capable of delivering high-quality, affordable, and equitable care, while Ireland’s eHealth strategy emphasises the role of technology-enabled solutions in improving population wellbeing, health service efficiencies, and economic opportunities. Teaching is delivered through a problem-based learning approach, focusing on the development of practice-based skills through real-world healthcare challenges. Graduates of this MSc have strong employment potential across multiple domains of the healthcare industry, with opportunities for career advancement at both national and international levels. Attainment at Level 9 is recognised as an essential requirement for progression and promotion in areas such as data analysis, healthcare informatics, and digital health innovation. At TUS, a strong emphasis is placed on delivering innovative, industry-focused master’s programmes that equip graduates with the knowledge and skills required to succeed in a competitive global marketplace, supported by academic teams committed to high-quality education and professional growth.
