Overview

The MA in Strategic Health and Wellbeing Leadership prepares graduates to drive meaningful change in community, organisational, and policy settings. The programme develops strategic, leadership, and research skills to design and implement high-impact wellbeing initiatives, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice, behavioural change, and emerging national and global health trends. Adopting an interdisciplinary approach, the programme explores mental, physical, emotional, social, and organisational wellbeing. Through TUS’s active learning model, students engage with strategic planning, policy development, leadership and management theory, and contemporary wellbeing trends, equipping them to influence change across corporate, public sector, healthcare, sporting, and community environments. The programme also provides hands-on experience in integrative wellbeing practice, including digital health innovations and sustainable wellbeing strategies. Students can tailor their studies through a 30-credit capstone research dissertation or an action research project, complemented by practical project management skills for designing, implementing, and evaluating wellbeing initiatives. The programme emphasises personal and professional development, offering opportunities to participate in guest lectures, site visits, conferences, and collaborations with industry and community partners. Graduates are prepared for leadership roles in health policy, corporate wellness, healthcare, sporting, and community wellbeing. Delivered in Limerick city, all classes take place over two full days per week, offering flexibility for those balancing study with work or other commitments.
