Overview

International students can apply for two consecutive graduate certificate programs at the same time, to create a two-year Graduate Certificate Bundle. Students can choose from a selection of Sheridan College's graduate certificate bundles where students may qualify for up to a three-year post-graduate work permit. Benefits of two-year certificate bundle: Easy application process with Sheridan College's pre-bundled program options May qualify for a post-graduate work permit for up to three years Take advantage of Sheridan college's award-winning postsecondary education. The Professional Accounting graduate certificate program is a first step to becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant. Once students have successfully completed this program, they can apply to CPA’s Professional Education Program (PEP) — the final step before they write their Common Final Exam (CFE). Even if students don’t have an accounting background, they will soon be on their way to becoming a CPA. CPA’s preparatory courses are rigorous and challenging to complete. By taking the Professional Accounting program, students get the equivalent courses in a supportive classroom setting. Students will also benefit from the best of the college experience — practical learning, one-on-one attention and small classes. Co-operative education in this program gives students the chance to gain valuable work experience and showcase their accounting skills to potential employers. Accountants need to have a strong theoretical knowledge as well as practical software skills. Unlike other institutions, Sheridan college gives both to their students. This combination of theory and software experience will make students more marketable to potential employers. And because students will be familiar with the latest accounting software, they will be ready for the workplace. Sheridan College's Human Resources Management program equips students with the skills they need to succeed as a Human Resources leader. The role of the HR manager has grown steadily in importance. Today's HR management professionals contribute on a strategic level, dealing with talent acquisition, total rewards management, training and employee development, employment law, health and safety, labour relations, change management and HR metrics. At Sheridan College, students will learn to navigate the complexities of this role. Students will take part in one term (three to four months) of co-op placement, which may be paid or unpaid. This opportunity for real-world experience in an HR environment can be an invaluable asset to a student's career. This program includes nine courses required by the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA). Students who achieve an average of 70% on these courses with no mark below 65% will meet the coursework requirement to write the Comprehensive Knowledge Exam (CKE), making significant progress on the path to become a Certified Human Resources Professional in Ontario.
