Overview

This research-intensive program is designed to address pressing management problems and advance academic scholarship. Ideal for ambitious professionals seeking to drive transformation in their sectors, as well as academics pursuing a doctoral degree, the program combines the rigour of a PhD with the applied focus of a professional doctorate. Through a blend of online learning and short, in-person residencies, participants can maintain their professional careers while completing their doctorates and contributing to meaningful change in their fields. The program strengthens participants' understanding of management and organizational practices, positioning them as leaders in their professions. The DBA program positions participants to pursue careers both within and beyond academia, empowering them to inspire meaningful change now and into the future. Graduates of the program work across a variety of sectors, including academia, for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, as well as governmental institutions. What Students Will Study Royal Roads University is a public, research-intensive institution. The DBA program focuses on applied and interdisciplinary management and organizational research. Delivered through an innovative hybrid format, the program unfolds across three phases of deep learning and professional reflection. The coursework is designed to advance participants' knowledge of management theories, emerging research themes, and diverse methodological approaches.
