Overview

The University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) is a top-ranked public research university recognized for excellence in the sciences, engineering, and interdisciplinary education. The university combines strong academics with hands-on research opportunities, and is situated on a beachfront campus overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The UCSB Connect Program, offered by KSE Global in collaboration with UC Santa Barbara Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE), provides a streamlined, 2-year pathway for global high school graduates to enroll at a top-15 U.S. public university. The program not only provides structured, comprehensive college courses and English proficiency enhancement, but also improves students' college readiness in a rigorous academic environment — with a guaranteed pathway to a UCSB bachelor's degree, or other UC pathways, pending academic performance. Why Choose UCSB Connect? Accessibility: The Program offers a unique pathway to University of California undergraduate degrees, which can otherwise be difficult for international students to access. Assurance: Includes a guaranteed pathway to UCSB, and four other UC schools, through the TAG (Transfer Admission Guarantee) system. UCSB Experience: Students take for-credit classes and live on campus at UCSB while preparing for the transition to full degree enrollment. The UCSB Connect Program gives international students the chance to access a University of California bachelor’s degree through a supportive pathway process, all while earning credits and living on campus. Note: The 2026-2027 UCSB Connect Program will be held on campus at University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and Santa Barbara City College (SBCC).

Optional Practical Training (OPT)

OPT and STEM OPT eligibility depend on maintaining F-1 status and on the program. A program counts as STEM only when its CIP code is on the official STEM list — not because its name sounds technical.
