Overview

Program Description This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the Leeds Beckett University International Study Centre. After completing the pathway, students will progress into a program at Leeds Beckett University. In an international foundation year students will study courses related to their intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance their skills as a student. Advancement into their intended program depends upon successful completion of the pathway program. This International Foundation Year provides the subject knowledge in sciences and mathematics, as well as the English language skills necessary for success in an undergraduate program at Leeds Beckett University. Once a student completes this course they will be suitable for progression options in areas such as computing, biomedical sciences and civil engineering. After completing this pathway, students will transition to the BA Illustration program. This course will enable you to challenge the conventions of the discipline of illustration. You will explore traditional, hybrid and experimental forms of visual communication to develop your own creative practice. You will be able to develop concepts and narratives through drawing, sequential illustration and animation, digital practices, three-dimensional forms, performance and creative writing. Your studies will enable you to investigate established unfamiliar and emerging processes, to inform your own individual methodologies. These practices are all underpinned by an emphasis on drawing and image-making. This course will provide you with the opportunity to define and locate your own practice within the professional context of illustration. You will learn from a course team of experienced lecturers who practice and research in diverse industry fields with the knowledge and skills to support multidisciplinary explorations. As a result, you will be equipped with the practical, creative, critical and professional skills required to excel in the creative industries.
