Program Description If you hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, but don’t meet the entry requirements for a master’s, a Pre-Master’s can help you gain a place on a postgraduate degree. For progression to the 1st year of a postgraduate degree at the University of York. Your course length is determined mainly by your English language level (UKVI IELTS score). Students on all course lengths take a set of common or similar modules to gain a solid base of skills for university. If your course is longer than 2 terms, you’ll take additional modules designed to improve one or more of your English language level, academic skills, and basic knowledge of particular subjects. Master of Science - Environmental Economics and Environmental Management Develop the skills needed by today's environmental managers, policymakers, consultants and scientists to tackle environmental issues at local, regional and global levels. The University of York's Masters in Environmental Economics and Environmental Management prepares students for a wide range of careers across the public and private sectors. Equally, it provides a good basis for further study at PhD level. Students will gain knowledge of environmental and ecological economics and the interactions between economic, social and ecological systems. At the end of the course, graduates will be equipped to incorporate environmental feedback into economic decision making in a way that satisfies both ecological managers and economists. This course is suitable for students from a wide range of backgrounds, including economics, human geography, business, sociology, politics, environmental science and more. They'll be taught by a range of interdisciplinary staff with varied environmental research interests.
