Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Pre-Medicine degree program provides students with a solid foundation in the sciences and a curriculum that prepares students to apply to medical school or other professional health programs. This rigorous course of study places a strong emphasis on sciences such as anatomy, biology, chemistry, epidemiology, immunology, microbiology and physiology. Students will learn by doing, in specialized labs as they apply theory to practice. To tailor this degree, students may choose Pre-Medicine electives such as nutrition, epidemiology, public health, and prevention and management of chronic diseases. Students may elect to complete a Senior Science Capstone Project to take a deeper dive into an area of interest. Students will also receive guidance in helping them find volunteer and other opportunities needed to strengthen their application to their professional programs of interest. The Pre-Med program prepares students to reason and think critically, skills needed to successfully move ahead to medical school or other health programs.After their third year, Pre-Med students will be ready to take the medical school entrance exam (MCAT).
