The MA Graphic Communication Design at the University of West London is a career‑focused creative practice course designed for both designers wishing to expand their current practice and those looking to enter the discipline from other creative fields. Rooted in exploration, critical thinking and emerging technologies, the course gives students the space to push their creative practice to the next level. Students will develop a combination of studio practice, technological awareness, design theory, research and entrepreneurial skills relevant to contemporary graphic design, including opportunities to experiment with AI‑assisted processes shaping the future of creative practice within the design sector. Through practice modules focused on design strategy, collaborative practice for social change, and options such as branding or typographic communication, students will explore visual and multisensory approaches to communicating social, political and societal ideas in imaginative and professional ways. The curriculum is shaped by industry experts, ensuring that learning connects directly with real-world practice and responds to new developments within the creative industries. With open‑ended assignments and specialist module options, students can tailor the course to their interests and build a portfolio that demonstrates their creative identity, thinking and professional value, preparing them for design leadership and senior roles.
