Overview

The Multidisciplinary course, which is centered around electrical, electronic, and mechanical engineering topics, aims to cultivate experts in the fields of manufacturing, mechatronics, computer-aided design, and renewable energy. Their extensive knowledge of engineering across various disciplines, along with their familiarity with the business environment, enables them to effectively engage with engineers from different fields. Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to tackle a range of real-world engineering problems and industry-focused scenarios, both individually and in collaboration with fellow student engineers from different degree programs. Group work will simulate the dynamics of an engineering team, fostering the development of essential professional skills such as teamwork and communication. The open access makerspace serves as a hub for students to design, create, and collaborate. Furthermore, students will have the chance to undertake a paid placement in a location of their choice, even outside of the UK. This invaluable experience allows them to immerse themselves in a professional working environment and apply the skills they have acquired. Previous students have successfully completed placements at renowned companies such as Boeing, Network Rail, Siemens, Keysight Technologies, and Bosch. The MEng degree program provides an opportunity for students to enhance and solidify their knowledge in integrated engineering. They will benefit from advanced learning in design and management, as well as engaging in multidisciplinary engineering design projects.
