The integrated master's degree in Biological Science offered by the institution is designed for individuals aspiring to become researchers or pursue a career in the field of science. This undergraduate course spans four years and provides students with the opportunity to delve into the latest advancements in their chosen area of study, while also receiving training in advanced research methodologies. A wide range of subjects within the biological sciences are available for students to choose from, including animal and plant biology, microbiology, genetics, systems biology, ecology, disease, behavior, neuroscience, zoology, developmental and stem cell biology, and evolution. Additionally, the Ecology and Conservation module offers subsidized field courses both in the UK and abroad, such as River Ecology in Wales, Tropical Marine Ecology in Tobago, and Rainforest Biodiversity in Malaysia. In the final year, students will undertake an extended project within an active research laboratory. This project will be innovative, and the outcomes may even be substantial enough to be published in a scientific journal. Throughout this process, students will receive guidance and support from experienced researchers, enabling them to enhance their practical research skills.
