Overview

Program Description Whether in the studio, the classroom or around town, Cambridge is full of inspiration. Whether students are honing their talent or finding their passion, the prestigious Cambridge School of Art at ARU is the perfect place to explore and design. The Pathway of Art and Design targets the skills students will need in University to critically assess information, develop a design portfolio, and express themselves through visual language. Students will be introduced to practical art and design skills including developing skills of visual storytelling, image-making both in traditional and digital media, visual language and communication, formulating an independent creative response to a broad range of subject matter. For a hands-on degree, many classes are going to utilise project and portfolio based strategies to help students begin developing a portfolio and find areas of passion. Discover how students can embed stories into their designs – stories that help others to develop social connections and make designed spaces important to the community. By studying BA (Hons) Interior Design at ARU, students will explore the relationships between design, experience and narrative. With small studio groups, tutors will really get to know students and their work, and help them become a resilient interior designer with a distinctive creative voice.
